About My Dress
Pattern Used:
My own design
Fabrics Used:
Silk Chiffon
Time To Create:
3 weeks
Dress Influenced By:
Roman Empire and contemporary femininity.
Additional Information:
Watermelon/ orangey colour silk chiffon. The current fashion trend focuses on the shoulders, and soft flowing fabrics are being used a lot recently by high end fashion houses thus I have incorporated this into my garment to target the fashion market.
The shoulder pads are the main focus; with hand sewn swarovski crystals, panels of gathered chiffon, and twisted outlines of silk chiffon. There is cording to accentuate them and provide contrasting textures. Invisible zipper at back with hook and eye.
Braiding around the waist, with clusters of swarovski crystals at ends for a polished look. Small train at back to accentuate elegance.
My photography skills aren't that great!

Hi, i am quite fond of your dress! but was just a little curious which designer mainly inspired you for this gown? Was it more Décarnin for the shoulder detail? Or Elie Saab for the embellishments? x

your talent in design is clear- however this seems a bit overwrought? I think I would have liked the detail put into the shoulders instead put into some kind of fitted bodice?

sorry wasn't done. also I love the draping but wish the waist fit closer to the body - think that would be more flattering. good work! keep designing!
