About My Dress
Pattern Used:
My own design
Fabrics Used:
Cream Zin Linen, Cream Voile, Vintage French Chantilly Lace
Time To Create:
15 Hours
Dress Influenced By:
Zimmermann’s ‘Halcyon Days' Collection. Young, fresh, feminine, flirty perfect for our hot hot Queensland summers. This design was created after the fabric arrived from Tessuti, realising my original design was not going to enhance the colour of the beautiful linen which I was only able to view and purchase on line. A bias cut was going to give the most movement for this summer inspired dress.
Additional Information:
The Vintage French Chantilly Lace comes from my wedding dress which I designed and made 30 years ago. The dress was evolved around the lace and it's previous use in the design of my wedding dress. The back asymmetrical design came about by using the lace scallop from the original deep V neckline. To keep the cool feeling I have fully lined the dress with cotton voile. A special thanks to Lauren my gorgeous model and Rhianna for the fabulous photographs.

Thanks for your comment on my dress design, it was easy to cut up the beautiful lace from the wedding dress as I had no attachment to it. It was great to see it transformed into something new, fresh & exciting.

Hi Loulse, I have followed your comments on all the entries and feel that you have a strong understanding of construction design and fabrication, my question is do you sew and if so are you going to enter this comp????
