About My Dress

Pattern Used:
My own design

Fabrics Used:
White zin linen & bridal lace

Time To Create:
2 months, working on the pattern and constructing the dress in my spare time after work

Dress Influenced By:
This design has been inspired by Audrey Hepburn's elegance. I wanted the dress to be as beautiful and as classic as she was.

Additional Information:
An open ended zip is featured at the back, piping has been used to frame the geometric pattern featured on the waist and lace has been plaited to create a finish around the neck, arm holes and waist.

My Experience:
I have completed my Advanced Diploma of applied fashion design and technology at the Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE 2010. This course included design, patternmaking, sewing all of which I do for my own emerging fashion label.

I'm From:
Coolum Beach,
QLD Australia

My Sewing Goals:
I am trying to start my own fashion label "Nine Lives Clothing" and am aiming to have my first range out for Spring/Summer 2012/2013 called "Attention to Detail". At the moment I am producing small amounts of clothing for myself and local customers and have recently finished my Small Business Management cert 4 course. I find it so inspiring, the amount of time and work that goes into these masterpieces is simply beautiful. Galliano, McQueen, Frida Giannini and Vivienne Westwood are my main obsessions. I would LOVE to create works as they do!

Additional Information:
I am passionate about using Local and Australia wide businesses supporting the Australian fashion industry. All of the Nine Lives clothing is proudly designed and made in Australia and will stay within Australia. I also want to create a boutique that supports Australian designers, established or starting out. There is so much talent that needs to be supported and I plan on showcasing it!
