About My Dress
Pattern Used:
My own design
Fabrics Used:
White enzyme washed linen, In The Mix linen, Oat Zin Linen, Ivory Tulle, Vintage French Lace
Time To Create:
2 weeks on and off
Dress Influenced By:
I was actually influenced by the fabric itself with this dress.
Additional Information:
I wanted to highlight the beautiful linen texture, so I decided to create a stripe fabric by cutting strips of 3 different linen fabrics and sewing them together. I gave the dress a classic, higher neckline, but put a modern take on it by shortening the hem and adding a sheer back. On the back, I then hand sewed parts of a Vintage French Lace that I owned. Sewing the stripes together took the most amount of time and was definately the most challenging part of creating this dress.

Alexandra, it almost gives the impression of 2 dress designs, looking at one from the front with the lines and one from the back with the sheer work. good luck in the competition.
