Linen and Lace, by Laura de Vries
About my Linen and Lace
- Pattern Used: My own design
- Fabrics Used: enzyme washed linen - medium white (tea dyed) with vintage lace
- Time To Create: 36 hours
- Dress Influenced By: I was influenced by the open backs and cut outs that have appeared on the S/S 11/12 runways. The fabric also influenced the design due to the more structured nature of the linen. I mixed angular lines with a more classic silhouette the a more modern and fashion forward take on the theme. As the dress is for the day, the addition of pockets gives the dress a more casual feel.
- Additional Information: The linen has been dyed with tea and the edges have been finished with a sheer binding.
