About My Dress
Pattern Used:
A commercial pattern
Fabrics Used:
Tessuti's Hanky White Enzyme Washed Linen and Floral Blank Embroidery
Time To Create:
Many, many hours over a 5 week period
Dress Influenced By:
I love the current trend of 'racy lace' where lace isn't the added detail of the garment, it is the garment. Making it translate to daywear was difficult. I decided to place the lace embroidery over washed enzyme linen to give contrast between the two textures. Peter Pan collars at the moment are my absolute favourite so I added that onto the garment myself.
Additional Information:
I always said that I would at least get a dress out of this exercise. It is true, I have a dress but I will now embark on dress number 4 with that little bit more knowledge and confidence. Thank you to my sister-in-law who kick started this adventure and said to just give it a go. To my husband for taking the photos and my sister who was my 'stylist'. Thanks to my dressmaking teacher for translating pattern instructions and going along with any idea I had no matter how 'harebrained'.
