About My Dress

Pattern Used:
My own design

Fabrics Used:
Black Forest Snow (Cotton) and Bermuda Rose (Silk Duppion)

Time To Create:
Around 12 hours

Dress Influenced By:
With this design I was trying to create a dress that was fun but elegant, and captured the femininity of the wearer. I wanted to use a polka dot fabric to capture a feeling of lightheartedness, and then incorporated stripes around the waist to emphasise the curves of the wearer.

The neckline of the dress is inspired by garments worn by noble-women in the Imperial Roman Empire. I then incorporated the fitted waist and flared skirt of a classic 50s day dress to give the garment a modern twist.

Additional Information:
Special thank you to my beautiful model Lydia, and my amazing photographer Leon. They both gave up a gorgeous afternoon to help capture my dress on film. Thank you both so much!
