About My Dress

Pattern Used:
My own design

Fabrics Used:
Chocolate Organza, Cofffee Cake silk Dupion. Latte? Spot chiffon. Rayon lining.

Time To Create:
3 weeks

Dress Influenced By:
I saw a beautiful collection by designer Anaessia who did a "Ballerina" theme.

I know I probably wont wear this dress (no opportunity) but I'd like to think that in 15 years time it wont have dated too much and my daughter may be able to borrow it or check out the way it was made.

Additional Information:
This is the first time I've ever used organza as an undelining, I love the effect it gives, making the fabric less wrinkly and slightly firmer. I'll definitely do it on all my future dresses.
I also did organza selvege strips on the bias edges to prevent stretching. As well as adjustable straps. Great if someone wants to borrow it!

My year is split into two halves:
Tessuti competion time and non Tessuti competition time. I love seeing everyones creations and they effort each person puts in.
After it's all ended I feel a little empty! No more sweet dresses to check out when I wake up in the morning.
