About My Dress
Pattern Used:
My own design
Fabrics Used:
Tessuti Yuki Navy Cotton Spot - Tessuti Stripe Binding, Tessuti Lace Trim (used in hem), other trims include, fringe, crochet lace hand-dyed, blue and also orange binding,, and 70s inspired orange floral wide ribbon.
Time To Create:
15 hours give or take.
Dress Influenced By:
Definitely the 70s, an era renowned for gorgeous cotton dresses!
And France, particularly Paris and its attitude towards art, style and femininity.
Additional Information:
Many elements were added to this dress...so many 'additional extras'. I used very little interfacing because I wanted the cut of the dress to be shaped beautifully on the body without too much support. I also like the way cotton falls on its own. I hand-dyed the lace and tie in orange, and used some of the remaining orange lace trim that was around 0.7cm sandwiched in the top/bust edge of the bodice with fringe. As the dress skirt is unlined, I used binding for seams in contrasting colours.

For this piece, and actually the other I made as well, I didn't get to upload my favourite selection of photos in time...the photo shoot was on the same day that the entries were due! You can see more views on facebook if interested.
