About My Dress

Pattern Used:
A commercial pattern

Fabrics Used:
Ombre Sheer Silk, Blue Polyester Satin Lining

Time To Create:
12 Hours approx.

Dress Influenced By:
Masquerade Costume, Titania - fairy from 'A Midsummer's Nights Dream' by William Shakespeare

Additional Information:
The skirt relates to the variation of a fairy’s top and bottom wing by having a high front and low back. The lettuce leaf hem line depicts the softness and gracefulness of fairies and the outlining of the wings. I decided to use the low cut back design because it is very feminine like, which emphasizes Titania’s personality in ‘A Midsummer’s Night Dream’. As a finishing touch I hand sewed glass beads to the front gathered panel.

It really is more of a costume than a formal dress. also I wish it fit better. In black this would likely have been more sophisticated as a formal dress. I can see the fairy influence though.

wasn't done :) I think you should keep sewing and designing, the back is very well done - maybe thinner straps though?

Ergh, don't be so bitchy Melissa and John. Atleast she gave it a go. New word for your vocabulary - Manners :) Or how about "If you don't have anything nice or even constructive to say, don't say anything at all".

I'm sorry, but the designing world is a tough one, and if you can't handle criticism then it's not the field for you. I feel as though this dress lowers the standard of these awards to be totally honest
